Logistics

Psychotherapy is most productive with a framework around time, place, and payment.  These subjects are outlined in a Disclosure and Consent Form, which I will send to you via email once we have scheduled an initial appointment.  Prior to reaching out to me, you may wish to know about some logistics, including:

  • Time:  Each session is for a duration of 50 minutes for individual psychotherapy, 75 minutes for couples, family, or group therapy.  Therapy is scheduled on a weekly, on-going basis unless we diverge from that cadence for therapeutic reasons.

  • Place:  Once we determine our meeting time, we will confirm if we will meet in person at my office or via Zoom/phone.  Because therapy work is best conducted in person, I am encouraging clients to come in person when possible.  My office is located at:  1904 Third Avenue, Suite 419, Seattle, WA  98101.  In case of a health or weather emergency, sessions will shift to Zoom/phone.

  • Payment is due at the time of each session.  My current fee is $150 per session ($225 for couples/family/group therapy).  I am "in-network" with Premera and Kaiser HMO and PPO plans.  For clients using "out-of-network" benefits, I create a receipt (called a Superbill) that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  •   Payment options include cash, personal check, Zelle, and IvyPay (secure credit card payment portal).

  • Other helpful tips:  Arriving a bit early to sessions and turning off electronic devices can help prepare you for our important work together.  If we meet at my office, you can enjoy some tea and reflect a bit in the comfy waiting room.
